So, as I said in my last post (if anyone is actually reading any of this), I went to SLB19 last Thursday night. I got a notification that I could join the group and shop early.
I figured I better hurry up because there is always so much lag there. This was kind of dumb, because I couldn't help myself and shopped around until the RL sun came up.
I started at Gleaming. I got there and there were literally four other people in the whole sim. Great for moving around, but bad for thinking this must not be so great. In my opinion, it was highly overrated, and extremely overwhelming. I think there are like 20 sims full of stores.
The good. All of the shops that were there looked great. They really did a great job in all of the booths. I think I read there were 400 stores. Now, come on, that is a little excessive, don't you think? It was like a kid in a candy store. Too much going on. Too many options. But, I was on a mission. Gifts.
The gifts were truly the best part. It was a lot of work. And, some shops thought it would be a good idea to hide their gifts. Bye.
The gifts, I have to say, are phenomenal. I haven't even opened half of my boxes yet. And, I've had most since Thursday/Friday.
The bad. Overkill. Way way way too much stuff. So much stuff, that you stop paying attention. I usually note items that I want to come back to. Grab my demos. But, here, I took maybe one note and the demos I picked, well, I'm glad they were demos. That's all I'm going to say about that.
The theme, steampunk, is definitely not my favorite genre. I know a lot of people like it, but it's too mechanical. My RL family owns a business with industrial machines. I grew up with dirty grease in my fingers and hair. The sound of metal against metal. It's just not my scene.
Kudos to SL for coming up with such an expansive shopping experience. But, really, next time, maybe cut it in half.
More of the good. Gift Cards/Credits. There were a lot. I am mostly done with all the sims and here is a list of them. I'll add more if there are any that I haven't gotten to yet.
